Splice, the final frontier

What a standfirst, this is going a bit far, even those normally relaxed about comma splices, might be finding this a little breathless to say the least, not to mention the excessive breaking-up of clauses, strangely though, it has a kind of appeal, oh the stream-of-consciousness of it all.

Not to mention the runaround on the picture. I mean, look at it: that text is actually touching. And the splodges. Some of them under the text, some of them on top, some of them actually overlapping the photograph.  It’ll be a while before the Tribune’s designers start allowing that sort of thing.
